HAZWOPER GENERAL SITE WORKER (PART I)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Online HAZWOPER Course is designed to fulfill the basic training requirements for hazardous waste cleanup workers listed within Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations 1910.120(e) as well as workers involved in emergency response operations and those who deal with storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste. Topics include: scope, application, and definitions; safety and health programs; site characterization and analysis; site control; training; medical surveillance; engineering controls, work practices, and personal protective equipment; monitoring; site safety and health plans; drums and containers; decontamination; and on-site emergencies.
Participants must have additional training based upon OSHA Interpretation [11/22/94] to complement this computer-based training. This training includes the donning, doffing, and use of specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required where they work as well as site-specific hands-on task training tailored to the participant's assigned duties. The additional hands-on training can be obtained by scheduling or attending our 8-Hour HM 241H Course or can be accomplished by the employer.
