LEGAL ASPECTS OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
Legal and regulatory risks related to safety and health have increased significantly to include increased monetary penalties and civil and criminal penalties. Beginning with an overview of the basic legal structure and concepts, the course examines the areas where safety and health professionals may be involved in potential litigation. The course reviews several regulatory requirements to include the OSH Act and describes the framework for this regulatory mandate. We review the rulemaking process that incorporates both general administrative law concepts and those features unique to the OSH Act.
